Practise will hopefully make perfect!

After having decorated several 'practise' candles using cheaper unscented ones, I seem to be developing my own technique. .Having experimented with a turntable and cellotaping the greaseproof paper in place around the candle, I found that this created a bumpy feel to the candles surface and was due to the fact that the greaseproof paper was tight enough around the candle. And having burnt my left hand a few times with the heatgun, An old pair of hubby's gardening gloves have done the trick!!
I am now able to hold the greaseproof paper tightly around the candle while heating it and not burn my hand or lose my grip ;) Below is a picture of my latest Cardandle set with a fantasy bird of paradise theme.

Image is courtesy of Jems Designs Ltd. The card is 8" x 8" with coordinating box and the candle is a large 16cm tall x 8cm diameter pillar candle scented with white linen.

As always, thanks for stopping by xx
