Hearts are always a winner for Anniversary cards

and the Love Hearts cd rom by Jems Designs is perfect for all those romantic celebrations such as Anniversaries, Weddings, Engagements and Birthdays too not to mention Mothers Day as well.
 This cd rom from Jems Designs has 10 different images in a variety of colours with gorgeous backing papers and embellishments too so you'll never be 'stuck' for choice when making all your romantic cards.

This card below was a commission for a Golden Wedding Anniversary and when I was asked to make it I knew exactly which cd rom I would be using, and deciding on the images / colours etc is, I find, what takes the most time lol.

Card size is an 8 x 8inch scalloped card, the main image and backing papers (printed on gloss photo paper) are from the Love Hearts cd rom. The roses were decoupaged and glittered, a couple of faux diamante gemstones and some gorgeous organza ribbon & bow complete the card. The only cutting die I used for this card was a fern leaf die (one of my favourites) from cottage cutz.

Mojo - we all have one

but I think the word 'Mojo' probably means different things to different people and whether the person is a crafter or not also has some bearing on the case lol.
Take this morning for instance, I left a status on FB saying I was feeling lost and I have been feeling a bit that way for a while now with regard to my card making. A good (non crafting) friend suggested I think of spring to get my mojo going again, but the trouble is, it's not inspiration I've been lacking but the enthusiasm to get my crafting stash out and make something!!!!
So often lately I walk into my craftroom and after a couple of hours of achieving nothing have walked out again closing the door firmly behind me thinking "tomorrow's another day!"

Anyway, fortunately for me I am on the DT for Jems Designs and have been asked to create the card sample below from their cd rom 'Love Hearts' designed by the uber talented Sheenagh Hulin. Thank you jems for kick starting mojo for me. I hope you all like the card which is a 6" x 6" scalloped easel. Cd rom Love Hearts from Jems Designs

Scalloped card blank

White spider web netting

silver linen effect and silver mirror card

Organdie ribbon and some Bling!

 

Printed off a backing sheet and decoupage elements from the cd rom and once layered onto the silver linen card stock covered the whole thing with the spider web netting.

(I do love this netting which has given the backing paper a textured and crackled look)

 

The foliage was cut from silver mirror card using a cottage cutz die. Some of the foliage was placed below the decoupage layers and some was used in between the decoupage layers.

 

I also placed some beaded wire inbetween the decoupage layers to add depth to the image.

Finally I added gemstones to the corners and the centre of the ribbon.
